Yesterday I wrote about another hole in “An Inconvenient Truth”. Specifically, that ocean currents have not been noticeably disrupted ( or at least there’s not enough evidence to say they have been ). So, right on cue, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration announced a La Nina seems to be forming. This would mean more [...]

The Shuttles cruise at about 25,000 mph or so. They go from 0 to 10,000 in 60 seconds. The shoot flames from their skin re-entering. So, imagine my kind of disbelief when I see something like this:
Hail damage that has grounded STS-117

I recently opined on Hollywood feeling compelled to reward a documentary with lots of holes in it. Today, another HUGE hole popped up in the basic premise of The day After Tomorrow. That being that man’s activities were already disturbing the ocean’s currents thereby creating larger, more frequent hurricanes such as Katrina. Seems that possibly [...]

I just love this one from The Tennessee Center for Policy Research:
Last night, Al Gore’s global-warming documentary, An Inconvenient Truth, collected an Oscar for best documentary feature, but the Tennessee Center for Policy Research has found that Gore deserves a gold statue for hypocrisy.
Gore’s mansion, located in the posh Belle Meade area of Nashville, [...]

A recent documentary claiming to have found the tomb of Jesus, along with some “shocking” news that Jesus may have had a son, is taking heat from basically all directions. I’ve read some on it, but not seen it. However, from what I’ve read, it’s got a LOT of obvious holes. The most obvious being [...]

The National Association of Education Progress released its annual report card. It ain’t pretty.
In math, only the very smartest have gotten smarter since 1992. Everyone else is dumber.
In reading, pretty much the same:
This is in spite of the fact we are spending a LOT more on education than we did in the past:
[...]

Saw this in the news today:
Now, this ain’t your ordinary really big squid. This is the largest squid ever caught. This bad boy weighs in about 980 pounds. That beats the old record by something like 330 pounds. Now, in the past, I had written a saga about eating squid balls and how they were [...]

I’ve known this for a long time. Most everyone else has too. Now, it’s apparently being quantified ( proven, for those who don’t like long words ):
Better-designed studies have shown that marijuana use increases the risk of psychosis later in life.
Adolescents who used marijuana by age 15 were more likely to develop a schizophreniform disorder [...]

This is one hell of a survival story:
Amilia Taylor was born at 22 weeks. She clocked in at 10 OUNCES, and about 9.5 inches. Doctors are saying she should be able to go home tomorrow and should expect a semi-normal life.
The word I would use to describe this little girl I’d prefer not to use [...]
