Curing those winter blahs

It’s that time of the year again.  The days are shorter, the weather’s colder, and I, along with a lot of people, just go into a funk.  However, there is a suggestion on how to deal with the winter blahs.  It’s pretty simple actually:

Tongue piercing?

Here’s the story:
The teenager said the stabbing pains in her face felt like electrical shocks that lasted 10 to 30 seconds and struck 20 to 30 times a day. Her doctors diagnosed trigeminal neuralgia, a nerve disorder sometimes called “suicide disease” because of the excruciating and dispiriting pain it causes.
Doctors tried painkillers, then stronger [...]

In ancient times, people thought comets were the precursor to some horrid event:

There’s really no evidence that the above depiction ever occurred, but it pretty well summed up the fears at the time.  It was pretty much a global thing.  Over time, about 3,000 years or so, man came to realize, for the most part, [...]

This is just way too cool:
The days of attacking aliens with a joystick could soon be over thanks to a breakthrough technique where a teenager played Space Invaders using only signals from his brain.
With a technique that takes data from the surface of the brain, a 14-year-old boy from St. Louis was able to [...]
