A while back I did a post on the Hot Coffee mod to Grand Theft Auto. My conclusion was the mod altered the game to make it “offensive”. I even chastised Hillary Clinton for attacking the makers of the game, Rockstar games. Well, if you follow my GTA link there, you’ll see [...]

This image from the European Space Agency using high resolution fake-color cameras has found a fairly substantial amount of frozen water. Above ground. It had been reported of underground water, however, as far as I know, this is the first report of above ground water year round.
This is a lot cooler than Sedna to [...]

Apparently Sedna is becoming an official planet. It’s 1/3 double triple the size of Pluto (they really don’t know yet). Pluto’s barely a planet IMO. The fact that Sedna apparently orbits the sun and has a moon justifies it as being a planet. It’s not much of a planet IMO.

I have been threatening to do a piece on the Space Shuttles. This is sort of going to be it. Some rudimentary background:

Good job NASA!
Good luck crew!

Bill Gates is going after Google again. This seems to be a never-ending love-hate relationship ala Microsoft-Apple of the 80’s. Now, in their latest quest, Gates is going after Google Maps. Their version is MSN Virtual Earth. It’s pretty cool. However, I looked up my home address, it was a vacant lot. Our lot hasn’t [...]

Space Shuttle Discovery is on the pad for a second attept at returning to flight. I posted a countdown ticker previously, but apparently it’s not linked to the same countdown. If you want to see Space.com’s ticker, it is here.
Hopefully this launch happens.
For those stuck at work, as I am, you can watch it on [...]

The National Weather Center predicted a busier than usual summer for severe weather in the Atlantic. However, so far we’ve had:
Tropical Storm Arlene, with maximum winds of 70 mph.
Tropical Storm Bret, with maximum winds of 40 mph
Tropical Storm Cindy,
Hurricane Dennis, which was a pretty rough one.
Hurricane Emily, which was scary, but didn’t do much [...]

I receive an RSS feed from the US Geological Survey. It’s interesting to watch. Every now and then I notice bursts of activity in specific spots. Sumatra is still one. The other is Mount St. Helens. When it happens there I get all excited and think it’s gonna blow. [...]
