What you are looking at is the birth of a star. The white spots are newborns, the red spots are the almost-borns. I really like the explanation Space.com gives of what is happening here:
Yesterday I made a post referencing about how string theory possibly explains that what scientists thought was the mysterious dark matter could probably just be gravity. For some reason, I’m getting the feeling this “previously unrealized energetic process, likely related to magnetic fields”, will be gravity as well. Gravity has this ability to bring close objects even closer together. I really don’t think size matters.
