Brazil enters the space race

“Brazil has launched an experimental rocket to carry out gravity research,” a Brazilian Space Agency spokeswoman said. “It was a complete success.”
Good for them. The United States has been the world leader, and at times the only world explorer into space. However, I personally have felt that the United States has abandoned the simple projects for loftier goals. Some of the simpler ones I would prefer to see. If Brazil and other countries can pursue those simpler projects, the better the world is for it. I can see Brazil sending satellites to examine the effect of the diminishing rain forests. That’s something the affects the entire world, but is too simple a project for NASA of late.
